“How important is a constant intercourse with nature and the
contemplation of natural phenomena to the preservation of moral and
intellectual health”.
– Henry David Thoreau
Locked in our urban jungle, a few Glenn students and I
decided to escape by taking a trip down to the Potomac River. We spent this
beautiful Saturday kayaking on the river, weaving our way among the yachts and
boats. In addition to our kayaking escapade, we were able to take a nice little
hike on Theodore Roosevelt Island, a woodland oasis in the heart of the metro
area. Needless to say it was a day well spent and we look forward to returning!
