A Sunday in D.C. in a Series of Tweets by Jordan Rennie

The entire house is quiet; no one is awake yet, and some light has made it through the window. Waking up at 10am is great. #BrightandEarly

The walk to Eastern Market is short, but the surrounding houses each have their own personality and the Library of Congress is magnificent.

Everybody is outside with their kids and dogs. There are no heels or pantsuits in sight.

Do not be tricked by the flea market, Eastern Market itself is in an actual building. I won't make that mistake twice. #NewInTown

But you should definitely go through the flea market; it's here every Sunday. Only my wallet regretted it. Cash is king, but people take cards!

Have any dietary restrictions? The permanent restaurants have gluten free options that don't have the usual upcharge we're so familiar with.

Sunday at Eastern Market is a perfect opportunity to drink coffee outside and people watch. #RealLifeBirdShirt #FunkyFedoras

Leaving Eastern Market before I have to take out more student loans to buy an unseemly amount of muffins. Headed to Chinatown!

It seems like there is a march in DC every weekend right now. I was in the Women's March, saw the March for Life, and now...

...I'm accidentally in a march against a new executive order. I might as well take a sign. Who knew D.C. would be so political?

The answer is everyone.

People in these marches are a whole lot nicer than the people on the Metro.

That march was good, but it needed more dragons. Good thing it's the Chinese New Year, there is a parade, and poppers only cost a dollar.

I'm going to make it rain poppers.

I think the dancing dragons followed my lead because it is very loud, exciting and there's a lot of smoke!

Unpaid internships don't lend themselves to big spenders, but splitting Chinese food with friends is a great way around big bills.

How in the world is it only 4 pm? Oh well, Gōnghè xīnxi!
