A Tribute to a Miracle: The Hot Dog

Anthony Bourdain, Man vs. Food’s Adam Richmond, Bill Cosby, President Barack Obama, and Kevin Arndt are just a few names of famous people who have indulged in one of DC’s best place to eat. As an official historic landmark, Ben’s Chili Bowl has been serving classic American food covered in chili since 1958. The small restaurant is still going strong today and if for no other reason it’s because the food is awesome. Situated across from the dull U Street metro entrance, Ben’s stands out from its surroundings with a colorful storefront that invites you to experience the American dream in pork and red meat forms. I gladly accepted my invitation and could not have been more satisfied. Just as Thurman’s is to Columbus, Ben’s Chili Bowl is to D.C. So when you visit, you absolutely have to hit this place up and enjoy this tradition that is unique to the capitol city.
